How SalonBiz Central is Helping Salon Ina Thrive

Salon Ina is a hair salon and spa located in Federal Way, Washington that focuses on providing high-quality services, excellent customer service, and a tranquil place for their customers to relax. In 2019, just before the global pandemic of 2020, the previous owner retired, and Luanne Rogers took over the business. Having survived growing and selling multiple salons before (as well as the adventures of being a mother), Luanne wasn’t fazed by the challenges of a pandemic and knew her salon would make it through. Having navigated the challenges of the past year-and-a-half, Salon Ina is now busier than ever.

Challenges

Many people stopped going to salons altogether in 2020. However, with vaccinations available and restrictions easing, there is pent-up demand for salon services. As a result, Salon Ina has too many clients and not enough time to serve them all.

“We have guests that want to see us because they are vaccinated and they feel comfortable. We are double booking clients and working well as a team to serve as many clients as we can, but sometimes multiple people get done at the same time and there can be a line to check out.”

Another challenge that Salon Ina has is continuing to provide excellent customer service and a tranquil, trusting environment for employees and customers alike, despite what is going on in the world.

Finally, not only is Luanne looking to grow the staff, but she’s also looking for ways to get away from working in the business, and having more time to work on the business. Ideally, she’d like to spend more of her time strategically growing and expanding the salon.

Results:

For example, in May, Luanne went to Nashville for vacation. The physical system at the salon was down and she needed to run payroll before she left. Not wanting to miss her flight, she had to leave without running payroll. However, while she was away from the salon, she was able to easily log into Central on her daughter’s computer to manage the payroll process virtually. It was her first time running payroll in the new system and she wasn’t confident that she could do it, but in the end it went off without a hitch and all the numbers were correct. After that, it was easy for her to enjoy her vacation because she knew her employees would get paid correctly and on time.

“At first I didn’t know what I was doing, but it was easy to figure out. I told my accountant the payroll report would look different, but it went off without a hitch. The numbers were right, and from there it was a celebration! I could enjoy my vacation and my employees still got paid.”

As stated before, Luanne wants to grow Salon Ina. She’s working with her team to help them establish monthly goals, and SalonBiz tools are helping her team hold themselves accountable.
